JVC Bluetooth Robots

Tuesday, January 17, 2006

Now we need to get ahold of these bluetooth robos so we can program them to be our band!

EnGadget said "Besides Bluetooth, it can be controlled by voice or mobile phone (over the phone network). On its head are two CMOS cameras that record video in MotionJPEG, and an internal lithium ion battery gives it a life of about 90 minutes. Of course it also does other normal "Japanese robot things" like sing, dance, and act like it can understand what you're saying. JVC said that although they currently don't have plans to make the robot available to consumers, this latest demonstration is to help them get a feel for what consumers think of the robot. "

McLuhan-esque

Thursday, January 12, 2006
Although one should read, in full, both of Marshall McLuhan's collaboratons with graphic designer Quentin Fiore (The Medium is the Massage and War and Peace in the Global Village), this is an interesting quasi-McLuhan type of critique, melding pictures and words to make didactic and declarative statements about the world today. (Note the footnotes as well, in clever palimpsest form).

Inhale the dialectic.

Bouncy Camera

Now this bouncy camera ball is exciting... think of the photographic possibilities, now only if it was radio controlled and could levitate.
