Spin Screenshot

A screenshot from the movie "Spin" we linked to earlier... couldn't resist this screenshot with transcript of a news-caster delivering news about post-LA after the LA riots.

Remember folks: News programs that want ratings and sell ads is NEWS ENTERTAINMENT much like pro-wrestling is SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT. Turn THEM off... open your eyes... see the world as it really is. This definitely makes life in the U-S-A much more pleasant and then you may find yourself walking the streets almost as if you have been unplugged from the Matrix and are truly free.

Satellite Feeds.... Spin

Friday, July 13, 2007

This is a documentary worth watching... built up of satellite feeds, which is an amazing phenomenon of unfiltered footage. The synopsis:

Using the 1992 presidential election as his springboard, documentary filmmaker Brian Springer captures the behind-the-scenes maneuverings of politicians and newscasters in the early 1990s. Pat Robertson banters about "homos," Al Gore learns how to avoid abortion questions, George Bush talks to Larry King about halcyon -- all presuming they're off camera. Composed of 100% unauthorized satellite footage, Spin is a surreal expose of media-constructed reality

This is important... show your mom and dad.

Yaskawa's Motoman-DIA10

Thursday, July 12, 2007

Snail mail is no more? Yaskawa's Motoman-DIA10 is like your average mail boy, only on steroids. It can sort through an impressive 1,000 pieces of mail in under an hour with its two fully positionable He-Man sized arms. Its creators claim that they only plan on marketing the Motoman as a backup for your workers. Yeah right, more like a permanent backup after you fire everyone.

Jam On

In deconstructing my mind as a child to this day I have also realized that this band: the breakdance/sci-fi kings NEWCLEUS, blew my mind completely. I thought they were futuristic musicians ready to take us to shows on the moon. It must have been the arpeggios on the synths and the fat synth bass.

And what is even more mind-blowing... the remaining space-faring musicians posted their 4 track demos as free mp3 downloads online! My mind is sufficiently blown again...

The KLF

Monday, July 09, 2007

The KLF were an influential band for me while growing up coming up with my musical concepts and what I want to "do" with my music. However, they were less influential musically and sonically but moreso conceptually. An excerpt from their Wiki:

"...From the outset, they adopted the philosophy espoused by esoteric novels The Illuminatus! Trilogy, gaining notoriety for various anarchic situationist manifestations, including the defacement of billboard adverts, the posting of prominent cryptic advertisements in NME magazine and the mainstream press, and highly distinctive and unusual performances on Top of the Pops. Their most notorious performance was at the February 1992 BRIT Awards, where they fired machine gun blanks into the audience and dumped a dead sheep at the aftershow party. This performance announced The KLF's departure from the music business, and in May 1992 the duo deleted their entire back catalogue."

May the spirit of KLF live on... and let us remember what the KLF taught us what to do with "fame"... if any of us "achieve" it. Long live the ancients!
